Week of The Way Home
My conversation with Elena Brower, my latest podcast appearances, and a free Spotify audiobook of The Way Home!
First things first, welcome to all of our new subscribers. So glad you found your way over to this corner of the internet where we are cultivating inner stillness so we can be a more whole and healing presence in the world! Learn more about what STILL is about here and, of course, I invite subscribers old and new (as well as the non-subscribing lurkers out there;) to consider jumping in as paying or founding members to help make this newsletter possible. Thanks for considering!
I wanted to get a post out to you in advance of this Sunday’s PASSAGES post (which I *hopefully* will still be able to pull off) because this was publication week for THE WAY HOME: Discovering the Hero’s Journey to Wholeness at Midlife! In the spirit of celebrating the birth of this book, which I’m SO EXCITED for you to read, I wanted to compile some links to articles, interviews, and podcasts to keep you in the loop and to introduce you a bit more to the book, its themes, and me!
1. Check out my posts on Instagram at @akabenkatt.
…Like, for example, these lovely photos with my family and my parents from the Seattle and Milwaukee book launch events, respectively.
2. Two TV “Morning Show” appearances
These were both really fun segments. Only the Seattle show dared to ask me about the intimate cactus encounter I talk about in the book—HA!
3. A Live Radio Show
I loved this conversation with Kate Archer Kent, host of “The Morning Show” on Wisconsin Public Radio. She asked great questions and covered a lot of ground in the conversation. Listen below:
4. Three Instagram Live Conversations
I made a new friend this week… This conversation with
was lovely, tender, and liberating. A highlight of the week for sure!I got to catch up with my old friend “Scott the Painter.” We talked about the book, of course, but especially the creative process.
I also got to hang out with my sista Christie Bauman.
5. This Q&A with Milwaukee Magazine
Read it here.
6. And the first few podcast conversations have been released!
It’s been really fun to be a guest on a variety of podcasts! I’m enjoying how different parts of the book resonate with different people in different spaces—generally speaking, wellness/mindfulness, religion/spirituality, and leadership/self-improvement—which also means each conversation brings out different things from me.
Take a look at the conversations below and jump in to which ever ones interest you. More coming soon!
